Welcome Students! In this post I want to discuss one of the new mechanics we are working on implementing into Visions of Zosimos and how it will affect how the game is played. As our designers and players played the game, the question of character facing was brought up when moving and attacking. Clearly, if I am attacking someone with their back turned, I should get the advantage.
Well students, allow me to introduce you the importance of facing. During movement, you will be able to use one of your movement points to turn your minion or homunculus to any direction you desire. Doing this will highly increase your defenses if you know the movements of your enemies. When it’s your turn to move, if you can position your minions or homunculus behind the enemy, do it! Doing this will give you multiple advantages like “back attack.” Back Attack allows you to gain an additional two attack dice. The defender will also be unable to counter-attack (unless they have an ability that states otherwise!)
Some minions like the Assassin, have the ability backstab that gives you additional dice when attack from behind. This lethal killer has backstab two giving her an additional two dice on top of the two from back attack giving her four additional dice when attacking from behind! The Assassin only has two attack dice normally making her very weak but when she gets positioned properly, watch your back!
